Recording & Production

I’m set up to help with the music creation process from start to finish

Whether it’s writing and arranging a song, recording and producing a band, or mixing a record.

My Gear.

I’m running all digital utilizing a Universal Apollo recording system featuring 10 channels of Unison Preamp glory! Featuring preamp emulations from Neve, Helios, Manley, and API, along with UA’s gold standard plugins, I can craft the modern and classic sounds you love. I invest in top of line microphones from brands like Neumann, Royer, Telefunken, and Shure, and instruments from Fender, Nord, Korg, and Ludwig. My Space.

Following in the philosophies of producers like Butch Walker and Richard Swift, I’m a big champion of the one-room studio set up. It improves communication, allows for quicker movement and collaboration when inspiration strikes, and optimizes the creative workflow. My room was architecturally designed to record music with no parallel walls and a high sloping ceiling to give it openness and character. Equipped with acoustic panels, bass traps, and gobo’s, I can tune the space to naturally fit whatever sound you’re looking for.

Fully Mobile.

Do you have a sweet sounding room? Maybe you have an abundance of great gear you don’t feel like moving? Or perhaps you just feel more comfortable in your place? My rig is fully mobile and I don’t mind coming to you. With the advancement in music technology it’s becoming much more common to take a de-centralized approach to recording, like recording drums in a studio and the rest of a song in a bedroom. It’s all about what serves you and the music best. Sometimes recording in a cabin in the woods provides just the ambiance a record needs to push it over the edge, and I can make that happen.

Listen up.

Nothing is linear when it comes to writing and recording music. It’s all about making a process that works for you. Some clients I work with like to work a few hours at a time, taking time to sit with the progress and see how things develop. Others like to bang out a record live in a couple of days. My process and workflow has evolved over time and I consistently change things up to keep myself and others engaged. Take a listen to some of the tracks I’ve worked on over the years and let’s figure out what works for you.
